Act of Kindness from Jessica

I live in a smallish town where people actually chat with each other. The other day the grocery cashier, Glenda, mentioned that her home had no heat and her portable heater had died. She didn’t have the $80 to buy a new heater and she was freezing. I suddenly realized we had a wonderful portable radiant heater sitting in our attic! A quick trip home and back to the store with the heater and, voila, Glenda gets to sleep warm and safe.

I realized that this act of kindness went both ways - she would be physically warm, but my heart would be warm, knowing that tonight, something would be better in this messy world.
