Act of Kindness from Cristina

Hello from Spain,

My act of kindness is towards the bin collection staff by simply placing my rubbish in the bins, as per before the pandemic. Somehow, as soon as the lockdown started in March, I noticed neighbours stopped putting their rubbish in the large communal bins in our neighbourhood, but just piled rubbish around them, even though the bins were empty.

These bins are emptied by large mechanised lorries that lift and empty them, so it must have been really hard work for staff to manually collect all this rubbish. And then add those people who cleared or renovated their homes during lockdown thus increasing the volume of rubbish. In true Dr Osterholm style, my dedication goes to the staff that provides us with this essential service. We clearly don’t deserve them.
